Digital Skills Training for Livelihood

This proposed Project intervention with AIYD2 is envisioned to be divided into two phases over six months with each phase being three months in duration.  With this project, we target 120 trainees every year youth in Kakuma and Kalobeyei camps

Potential online jobs identified by AIYD2 include:

1.     Web development and design: Web development and design require a significant investment in time for training, but they offer substantial financial rewards upon skill acquisition. Training typically spans several months, depending on the depth of the program. Once proficient, individuals can secure well-paying jobs or freelance opportunities. This field aligns with AIYD2’s mission by providing lucrative and scalable employment options for young refugees, particularly women

2.     Content creation: Content creation includes writing, video production, and social media management. These roles are versatile and in high demand, providing opportunities for young refugees to express creativity and earn income. The training duration can vary but generally involves a few weeks to months, with the potential for substantial engagement in diverse industries.

3.     Graphic design: This involves creating visual content for various platforms. Training can take several months, but the field offers a high demand for skilled designers. This aligns with AIYD2’s goal of offering creative and rewarding job opportunities, particularly suited for young women. 

4. Mobile app development: This is a high-skill area with a considerable demand for expertise. 

Training involves understanding coding languages and app development frameworks. This role offers high earning potential and aligns with AIYD2’s mission by creating opportunities for advanced employment.
